Rex, we can’t thank you enough!  Having our dogs’ planned Vet boarding cancelled two days before a River Cruise in Europe that had been planned 2 years in advance was beyond stressful.  We feel so fortunate that the Rancho Mirage VCA gave us your name and number and that you would take Lilly and Frankie over Christmas.  You were a lifesaver!  What began as a disaster was truly a blessing in disguise. It’s not a small thing to leave our dogs in the hands of others. Our dogs are our children.  When you came to our house to meet us, and Frankie and Lilly, Frankie barked as he usually does.  What really impressed us though, was how Frankie calmed down and the two of them sat peacefully on either side of you, staring up at you and listening to everything you said.  Frankie was so relaxed with you within a few minutes.  He trusted you.  That is a first!  You definitely love animals and this encounter gave me the assurance I needed that they would be in good hands. I also want to thank you for sending pictures and updates while we were away.  I know I said you didn’t need to do that but when I saw your first email, it brought a big smile to my face!  Didn’t realize till then how much that would mean to me.  Thank you for taking the time to do that. So, a big thank you for giving such loving care to Frankie and Lilly.  It’s good to be home and back with our pups.  Time to start planning our next trip!   We have peace of mind knowing Frankie and Lilly have a loving, safe ‘Home away from home’ for future travels.

Getting to know Rex has been such a pleasure. The amount of experience Rex has with unique creatures is truly beguiling. I have a little Leopard Gecko named Winston. Over the past 7 years with Winston while I was a student and becoming a young adult, I have been frequently moving and traveling. I have always needed to leave my reptile with family and friends who had no clue what to do with him and were even too afraid to touch his food, so now finding someone who I can trust, with better knowledge than me, has been a game changer. I don’t have to worry about if Winston sheds while I am away cause Rex knows what to do. I don’t have to worry if I buy the wrong bulb for Winston’s heat lamp cause Rex knows the right one to get. Rex has been a friend for around ten years, and in that time, I have been amazed at his knowledge of various animals – domestic as well as those out in nature. Whether it be about insects or birds or dogs, cats, reptiles and fish, his knowledge is expansive. Translated to his own dogs, cats and birds that he has loved over the years, I am always also touched by the warmth and compassion he demonstrates with each one.
